Our premium Galician goose barnacles also called Percebes are wild-caught in the nutrient-rich waters of the Rías Gallegas along the rugged Atlantic coastline of Galicia, Spain. These filter-feeding crustaceans attach themselves to wave-battered rocky outcrops, forming small colonies in areas exposed to the turbulent open ocean.

The challenging environment and difficult access make Galician barnacles one of the most prized seafood delicacies. Barnacle gathering relies on local knowledge of tides, winds, and underwater topography. Skilled harvesters brave treacherous seas, timing their harvests around ever-changing weather and tidal conditions.

Their briny ocean flavor pairs well with a crisp white Albariño wine from Rías Baixas.
