Description
The Vesuvio Piennolo cherry tomato is a special variety grown in Campania, southern Italy, near Mount Vesuvius. These tomatoes get their strong flavor from the mineral-rich volcanic soil and the limited water used to grow them. It's one of the oldest and most traditional tomato types in the area.
The Piennolo del Vesuvio PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) Tomato Preserve has a unique, intense taste and a thick texture. These tomatoes add character to both meat and fish dishes, and they're great for making the popular "scarpariello" pasta sauce and bruschetta.
Italianavera, a woman-owned business in the San Marzano PDO region, was founded by Diana Attianese. Growing up in the San Marzano area, Diana wanted to share the homemade tomato sauces she enjoyed as a child with people around the world.
